Padlock is a total fun killing, as is a fucking bat radar, if you had spotted an enemy plane, and then lose it

it's your problem, but padlocking even a plane already spotted is just plain crap, as you can't make anything 

in order to lose you chaser

also free track or face track noir isn't any fancy hardware, actually a freetrack set up cost around u$20

Anyone remember the f5 aces of il2 1946?

 

Yeah- that's exactly what I'm talking about. There were lots of ctrl-f2 aces too.

 

TrackIR is really great and I'll recommend it to anyone who is considering it. I did fly IL2/46 for a while using the mouse for view control (I wish I had though to map the throttle to the wheel! At the time I just used the 1-0 keys on the keyboard.) I think I had the hat switch mapped to snap view too, so if I got disoriented with the mouse I could snap back to gunsight view. It wasn't all that bad.
