Herne Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 there is a link to a pdf version for anyone outside the US from Reddit Crazy story though, have to feel sorry for the guy.
AndyJWest Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Quote He said he would like to acquire F-35 and F-22 flight manuals and he "could guarantee that these manuals will not be provided to any third party, and I think even not shown to anyone in our company." If this is correct, I suspect this may be a factor at least partly explaining the US reaction. Given the 'no politics' rule of this forum, I suspect this might best be discussed elsewhere though.
Rolling_Thunder Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 I don't feel sorry for him. ED are well known for their excuses. "Can't model this, can't model that due to classified information. Guy should have known better. Or at least did some research. He's an idiot. Does this mean the much anticipated DCS F16 is now on hold?
AndyJWest Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 (edited) Quote Does this mean the much anticipated DCS F16 is now on hold? Probably not, given that the incidents were reported to have occurred some years back, and ED have now got approval from Lockheed Martin for the F-16. Edited May 13, 2019 by AndyJWest
Feathered_IV Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Maybe he could consider buying a cheap scanner and emailing them to himself next time.
MiloMorai Posted May 14, 2019 Author Posted May 14, 2019 Isn't Wagner ex CIA? Raises questions, does it not?
Feathered_IV Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Sithspawn will be very busy right about now, banning all known members of Homeland Security plus their friends and relatives from ever posting on the ED forums. 1 4

InProgress Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 (edited) Reminds me of Arma 3 dev who got arrested for making photos of an island with army base on it and they charged him for being a spy lol Well I must say, risking that much to give us as realsitic F16 model as possible, respect Maybe next time ED will steal a plane and fly it back to russia to examine every detail of it and make 100% realistic module ? 51 minutes ago, [Pb]Cybermat47 said: What sort of idiot would do something like this just for a video game? Well, tbh you never know if it's just for a video game. Could be just an excuse but main goal would be to give them to russian gov. Edited May 14, 2019 by InProgress
Fennec Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Oh i didnt know about him also getting documents about F22\35. I thought he only got a F16 manual that contained information that are already known but jailed because of the way he acquired them. Yes he would be risking his life if his intention was to sell classified data to a government. He would no longer be considered as a civilian but as a foreign spy in such case, by other services.

I don’t think my eyes have ever rolled harder than when I realised ED had made a WWII map that none of their German aircraft suited. The game has loads of planes with no map to fly on, and maps with barely any aircraft to use. Edited May 14, 2019 by [Pb]Cybermat47
Jason_Williams Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Guys, Although this is interesting and a worrisome development, I'm closing discussion about it. Too political a topic in today's climate. We'll stick to WWI and WWII. Jason 1 2
