SCG_Neun Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 If we have anyone interested in helping us populate our server for Sunday, 3PM EST please PM me. It's nothing fancy, but there are two objectives for the Germans to secure and plenty of AT in the way. German units will be assigned to SCG, and Russians will have more autonomy to seek firing positions and defend. 2 2
Velxra Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I hope the mission goes well. It sounds like a great tank event to attend.
SCG_Neun Posted May 12, 2019 Author Posted May 12, 2019 Yeah, it's really fun when you have a bunch of tanks moving together coordinated and on the same comm channel. Very immersive. Thanks for you kind words sir...Take care, and remember you can always join our event.
JG1_Wittmann Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Is this going to be a regular occurrence ? I saw your post at 3pst
SCG_Neun Posted May 13, 2019 Author Posted May 13, 2019 Yes, for the most part I'm going to try and keep it going. I'm going to the Air Show in Virginia Beach this weekend, so I'm not sure if I'll have one up for Sunday or not. By the way..if you filled out that application...make sure you check your email junk mail folder as well. I responded. If that wasn't you...disregard.
SCG_Slater Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 The session yesterday was great, lots of Tigers rolling together was really fun. 1
SCG_Neun Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 Our missions are very rudimentary in terms of MCU triggers...enablers...this and that. I've got a few things going, but the main setup in one of our missions is gun placement in both artillery and AI tanks. If you take your time and carefully place gun positions in woodlines....towns while using the slope of the land you can create a very real battle scenario. Granted there isn't any infantry component, but 8 Tigers moving on an objective with some IL-2's pestering the devil out of them and throw in a human element on the Russian side and it makes for an enjoyable mission of about 2 plus hours at times. You can place as many guns as you want and I've found that it's not a drag on the mission....Switch up for next week and go at it again. We are bringing our air units in on the fun most likely next week. The game gives us a lot to work with and like many have said it's not finished. You can have a lot of fun with it, if you take what it gives you and play it. The best use of it for multiplayer is control the amount of people on your server, and have a specific mission objective...a focal point and go for it.
SCG_Slater Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Maybe placing some MG’s just to add more realism? They can’t hurt the tanks but if you have your commander in the open you could potentially lose him. I know now they also got AT infantry planned that would also be a nice addition. 1
SCG_Neun Posted May 22, 2019 Author Posted May 22, 2019 Yeah, you're right.....the MG's add some flavor especially in the towns... 1
SCG_Neun Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 (edited) Having the ability to call in a Stuka Air Strike or any ground attack option... is going to bring a lot more immersion to our missions. This is an example of a scenario map. The Commander can get an idea of the resistance positions, but I move things around after I send out the mission briefing. Those Russians are shifty....and they are always digging new positions.? Our missions are usually set for Sundays at 1500 hrs to give our EU members an opportunity to participate. If you'd like to join in to sample our missions....just PM me and we can get you setup. You can play as either Russian or German. I usually climb in a T34 and kick up some dust, and I'm getting a bit better at creating some havoc from time to time... The little video below shows only my tank testing out the air strike option.....as simple as it is, I can't wait to see 8 Tigers moving forward using this tactic. Well if I'm not in my T34 I can't wait to see them..... Edited July 14, 2019 by SCG_Neun 3
SCG_Neun Posted July 16, 2019 Author Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) Some of our exploits. I think it captures some of the games strengths. I know my guys have a blast each weekend during our missions. https://www.simulatedcombatgroup.com/dayonthefront Edited July 20, 2019 by SCG_Neun 3
