IV./JG5_-Axe- Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Information about the pilot, crash and plane: https://ktsorens.tihlde.org/flyvrak/sirdal.html I'm curious as to what this particular part did and where it would be mounted. Thank you.
AX2 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Try this maybe help. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/4671-help-id-claimed-bf109-part/ .
Bassly Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Are you sure it's from Bf109 G6, not from a Me210? http://www.histavia21.net/MarquagesAvions.htm
JtD Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Doesn't the number 210.471 suggest this is from a Me 210? From the looks of it, it could be some control linkage element.

Are you sure it's from Bf109 G6, not from a Me210? http://www.histavia21.net/MarquagesAvions.htm I posted it on reddit as well, they suggested it was a part from the trim or the flaps system. Anyway, everyone I spoke to who spotted the plane describe it as a Bf 109. The pilot was also a Bf 109 pilot from a Bf 109 flight (info from the link). Last, but not least, only one person was ever spotted coming from the plane. Could it possibly be that a mechanic took the piece from a Me 210 and fitted it on the Bf 109? If anyone knows if the Bf 109 and the Me 210 shared parts, please let me know. I have no idea if this is a possibility, but it's a fun idea.
MiloMorai Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 One can get manuals from here, http://www.luftfahrt-archiv-hafner.de/ The one I have seen on the Fw190 had the part numbers.
BlitzvogelMcpeek78 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Friend looks to me you have just about everything you need to figure out what that is. just remeber the germans were nuts and to some extent still are about part numbers. Thats one reason Old japanese cars are harder to find parts for as opposed to german ones. No to mention that mercedes still make parts for just about every car they have ever made or will make you one. When I use to live in Germany there was a guy at the local Mannheim airport that had his own ME-109G6 pretty cool. Seen quite a few old german warbird at tecnical museams. Sure wish I could help. I used to work at an old fighter base in near ludvigshaven JG53 the "PIK-AS" or aace of spades commanded by Werner molders. Our motor pool building was the old 109 repair hangers. Still had Greman on the walls "RACHEN VERBOTEN" or no smoking. Anyone else out there been to any old ww2 airbases.
