Summer Maps?

I can see that, but that really goes for a lot of battles.

The Battle of France does have one thing going for it, when it comes to making a flight sim of it: It was exceptionally intense in terms of air battles with planes and pilots being strained to the limit and greater total losses of aircraft in that little over a month than in the almost 4 moths of the Battle of Britain. It was just brutal!

I would buy a BoF map, which could also be re-used for a Ardennes map (Jane's WW2 fighters?)

Also:

BoSm (Battle of Smolensk) for 1941 and 1944

BoKub (Kuban) for 1942 - 44

BoKur for 1941-43

BoMalt (Malta) 1941-43

All of these need some earlier and later version of the current aircraft line-up plus some additions, ground units and so forth but they are all good for several different campaigns and time periods depending on the exact area covered.

I'm looking forward to some sea and ships etc. Hopefully they'll figure out a way of doing carriers one day because that will be awesome.

Yep, would be nice to see a Med map,

Having been to Malta, I can say it would make a great Campaign, loads of ships and AAA in Valetta harbour.

Torpedo attacks by Ju88's on convoys, that would be awesome.

In fact the only thing to top it would be Murmansk and artic convoys!

If the devs had to go for Malta they already have a lot of the groundwork done.... 110,s 109's, JU 87's, 88's, macchi, .... all we need is spits and hurries.... what's the problem? You can bomb ships and airfields and you have north africa too. The potential for Med is huge. That lays the groundwork for Mustang, B25, P47,P40 etc etc etc.

I really think an entry level opening (maybe even free version) map and one or 2 aircraft (with mouse control) will get more numbers into the game. You could match the RATA and E7 in MP matches to keep the youngsters happy and entice them into the JS/simulator environment. Once the guys get experience and get hooked on the graphics (ok.... if they fix the annoying blur/bubble issue) and feel of the game then we might have the momentum to swing the product into the next level to take on War Thunder and DCS. They can employ more devs to fix critical issues (hit sounds) and more devs to create better environments and theatres of war.

Maybe 1C/777 want to stay small but from the rapid pace of the expansions and the stuff currently in the pipeline, I don't know, but I think these guys mean business and they are planning to give us a LOT more than we expect. I certainly did not expect BoM when they announced it and it certainly has brought new life and potential to the product. I just feel that they need a cheaper entry to the game with the option to buy more aircraft as you go along.

Above all I think there is presently no reason for 1C/777 to fear any competition.

I am a devoted DCS World user, only for their ww2 modules and helicopters, and I look forward for EDGE, and I acknowledge the quality of their work, and will as far as life permits. continue to support that platform too, but there is simply no way to not do the same with IL2 BoS which s becoming ( it is already IMO ) by far the most complete ww2 sim available AND under continuous development by the original team!

Yes it is still 32 bit and DX9c, but, graphically it beats DCS, in immersion during ww2-like missions with proper environment the same applies.

Yet another area where I find Il2 BoS unique ( even more than RoF, although I know they use the exact same basis for it ) is view perspective. I can't find nowhere near the same feel of looking around in the cockpit and trough my canopy like I do in BoS.

So... even if small, limited in resources, the 1C/777 merged teams are doing a remarkable work, and creating a superb platform. The pace at which they're updating and sometimes even answering to user requests while involved in their complex projects is yet another factor making me take my hat off for their dedication.

Nothing to fear, I believe - they're here to stay, and with time more and more users will see their platform as the most suited for ww2 air combat.

This all ( sorry for the writing... ) to say I am ready to accept any offers for IL2 Boand will welcome any Maps, aircraft, at whatever pace they are made available.  I actually wish I had the time to fully profit from all that is already available...
