InProgress Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Anyway knows which german planes had fire all guns on one trigger and which had it separated? Interested in every plane but mostly what we currently have in the game. Especially how it worked with hs129 which had 3 different guns or bf110 that also could use 3 different ones.

Did any bf110 have 3 different forward facing weapons guns in the nose? All I recall are x4 mg17's and x2 mg ff/m for early models (with a handful of c6 models dropping the mg ff for 1 podded mk101 under the fuselage), later models got mg151/20s instead of the mg ff's and some of those got the 8mm mg's replaced with mk108s. Like the c6, some g models had the mg151's dropped for a podded bk37. I think 190s were the only axis fighter where you fired both cowl machine guns and wingroot cannons by default unless you had outboard wing cannons which got their own trigger/button. I'm not sure if it was ever done by axis pilots, but I would imagine a little wiring and a pilot could have all guns fire at once like pokryshkin's cobra. I also know on viermottöter 109s like the g6 with a mk108 and 20mm gunpods that the trigger group was modified, i think early the mk108 and mg131s were grouped but later the mg131s were grouped to the mg151 wing guns. Only 7,9mm or only 20mm or only 30mm? Could you combine that? For example 30mm only and 20+7,9mm together. I don't remember now but i think one bf110 in box has option for 30mm gun but it's on the bottom just like in hs129 so 20mm and 7,9mm in the nose shoul still be there. That would make 3 diffrent guns in one plane just like hs129. I assume all(?) 109 had seperate fire for cannons and mg, at least what it looks like from their stick. Kind of expected more popularity here i guess it's not common knowledge and seems really hard to find.

You're not getting much of a response, because there really isn't much to say other than what's already been written here - not because the info is hard to find. 1
Jaws2002 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) This is something that could be find in manuals. For example here are a bunch of manuals on the BF-110. https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/bf-110-manuals.12902/ Some are manuals about weapons operation, so your answer, at least for the BF-110, should be in one of those. Hope you speak German. Edited May 9, 2019 by Jaws2002

Other than that afaik all the weapon modifications have only 2 types of guns, since the bigger cannons either delete the lower 20mm (BK 37) or the upper 7.92mm (MK 108s) Edited May 9, 2019 by -=PHX=-SuperEtendard

The 30mm cannons in the nose of the Bf 110 G-2 R4 were the anti-bomber MK-108s.

This or the radio operators compartment itself might be the place where the ammunition for the 30mm gun was stored, so i don't think that the 20mm guns were on board.

For these tho interesting to reed about it some of them are in Russian and German but most of them are in English once and if i gonna find more original manuals i will upload them more. below is are link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tfU0AWz4A5xFu0-BmnhWIMJ1eoMF3Adm?usp=sharing This google drive link gives good information about your question regarding some planes. The chapter "III. Schießflug" of manual "Me 110G-2-4 Bedienungsvorschrift" describes which gun is fired by which button, at least for the Me110 G2 and G4. Not all manuals in this Google Drive state the button mechanism for each plane's guns, but it should answer your question in general, that some seperated triggers were used. Also the manuals are very interesting if you want to find out some more details about those planes. I hope that I could help you or someone else.?
