InProgress Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Anyone know what's the difference between Gladiator Mk.II (it costs 100$ and has all kinds of buttons) and Gunfighter Mk.II ‘WWII Combat Edition’ (which is only a joystick on its own and costs 300$)? I will most likely get the 100$ one but still got question about throttle. It looks meh.. small little thing so close to joystick. Is there going to be new version of Gladiator with normal throttle? I think I heard that somewhere. If not, is there a seperate throttle I could buy? I know there is hotas but I want something with sane price, 100$ max.
Sokol1 Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 (edited) Gladiator Mk. II "vanilla" (non PRO) ~$85-100. - Plastic gimbal similat to CH plastic gimbal, but with damper grease in gooves that make the center "clunck" way less noticeable than in CH sticks. - KG-12A "lookalike" grip with 2 fire buttons + "pinky" button - set as "shift" for upper buttons and POV HAT, so you can control 8 functions by use this 'shift" only with right hand. And can double this functions with "Mode" button on base. -13 buttons on base - in default profile not affected by "shift" neither by "mode" buttons, but this can be reconfigured as wish trough VKB DevCFG soft. - Twist rudder - with contactless sensor -Throttle dial on base, OK'ish like any throttle in "3-in-1" sticks, to be fair a bit better than T.16000M slider. Resume: a relatively affordable entry-level "all-in-1" Aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle axes, with contacless sensor in main axes (aileron, elevator rudder). Can make a good "entry level" HOTAS paired with Thrustmaster TWCS throttle. Gunfighter Mk.II "‘WWII Combat Edition". - Gunfighter base: all metal construction with ball bearing in pivots, CAM center system with alternative CAM profiles and springs, plus the exclusive system "dry-cluth" a kind of brakes that damper the return to center and the pendulum effect caused by use springs, common to all joysticks. This mechanics worth the additional $200, but this stick have a "hidden cost" (see bellow).** - No buttons in base. - Accept extension - to be produced by VKB. - Grip is the same KG-12A of Gladiator Mk.II "vanilla", but can be replaced by "high end" grips Kosmosima SCG, Kosmosima SCG Premium, MCG and MCG PRO grips. - No "twist rudder" with KG-12A grip, but the "high end" grips listed above accept the twist add-on for "high end" grips - to be produced by VKB. - No throttle dial Resume: a "high end" base that require ** separated rudder and throttle controls and "high end" grip. IMHO - No reason for buy Gunfighter base with KG12-A but instead with Kosmosima SCG or MCG grips. Edited May 7, 2019 by Sokol1
InProgress Posted May 7, 2019 Author Posted May 7, 2019 That gunfighter seems like more trouble than it's worth. Additionally most of stuff is out of stock. So overall it's worth to get gladiator (would replace my thrustmaster tflight hotas x) with seperate throttle twcs?
dburne Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Quality of Gunfighter is superb, unfortunately getting one can be frustrating as they tend to run them in batches, once or twice a year.

Gladiator Mk.II "vanilla" + TWCS throttle - both have rudder control, if don't want use rudder pedals; is good improvement over HOTAS X, and will cost around ~$200 (both). Gunfighter is another level, but require at least a TWCS for throttle and rudder control, both will cost ~$400. And something like $600-$1000 if associated with throttle and pedal of same "league" (Warthog throttle or VPC throttle, MFG, TPR or Slaw pedal). Depends how much want spend.
InProgress Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 Nah i don't like stuff that expensive. Especially since I don't have $ or € in my country so 1000$ is insane price for me. And when it breaks i will be sad ? I want to get thrustmaster pedals, heard it's good and price is fine too.
