molotovb Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 It looks as if when AI planes are damaged from gunfire, usually the Lagg in my case, they seem to trail smoke nearly endlessly. I'm a pretty terrible pilot at this point, so I've noticed this a lot - I can get a couple of hits on them, and then chase them for 5+ minutes afterwards. They never seem to burn up or run out of whatever they are leaking! Usually it's light grey smoke, sometimes darker black smoke, sometimes both. I haven't seen any planes go down from this damage yet - is this a bug, or somehow normal? It doesn't appear that their flight performance degrades at all from this damage, either.
Chuck_Owl Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I have also noticed that once an aircraft starts smoking and dives down to the ground, as soon as the aircraft crashes and explodes, the smoke trail behind it magically disappears. Slightly annoying.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Yes, it does take some time for the leaking fluids to effect the (engine) performance but it does over time. You can fly a damaged aircraft for a comparatively similar amount of time after you start leaking as well. And the smoke/impact issue has been addressed by testers already. It will be resolved at a later time.
