Oberst_Maier Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Hey guys, i have a problem concerning the level flight in the bombers. Always when i start using the bomb sight and the level flight activates, my plane puts its nose in the sky until the level flight stops and the plane literally falls down again... How can i solve this?
AndyJWest Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Shouldn't happen. Check your key assignments to make sure you haven't also set the level-flight key to something else as well.

AndyJWest Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 That's strange. You are definitely using the 'AI-autopilot for level flight' key, rather than 'AI-autopilot on/off'? If so, the AI should hold the plane level, as long as it has enough power (level flight AI doesn't move the throttle). It will disengage if you make large control inputs (stick or rudder), but otherwise the only thing that disengages it is when it approaches a stall.

Im flying completely balanced before i activate it, but after activating the plane pulls up constantly and makes it stall itself which aborts the auto level.
AndyJWest Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Very odd. I'd guess that you have a corrupted installation somehow. You could try restoring the default key settings, just in case they have got corrupted, but otherwise, unless anyone else has an idea what is going on, I think you may have to reinstall the game.
56RAF_Roblex Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Maybe a silly question but... the OP seems to be saying he just goes into the bombsight and expects to automatically be put into 'autolevel'. Is that how it works? I always put on autolevel manually before going into the bombsight but maybe I have been doing it wrong all along.

Ever when i activate level flight auto pilot the plane wants to pull up higher and higher until the speed drops so low it stalls.
AndyJWest Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 What happens if you engage level flight autopilot on an aircraft with no bombsight?
Oberst_Maier Posted May 4, 2019 Author Posted May 4, 2019 I just tried it with the 109, and for fighters it seems to work perfectly fine..

Can you retest and confirm that, you pressed the key to enter the bombsight and then you did not press the key for AI-autopilot on/off. When you enter the bombsight, the autopilot is engaged, so if you then press the autopilot key, the autopilot is actually disengaged. Also, check if you have an orange icon beside the following key settings: AI-autopilot on/off Bomb Sight
