"My Old Man cut his teeth on the 20mm Oerlikon along the North Atlantic convoy routes. He used to load his gun with all tracers instead of 1 in 6. That way, when German bombers appeared over the convoy at dusk, it looked as if six times as many guns were firing and they steered well clear. In his words, "They don`t hurt us and we don`t hurt them. Everybody`s home for Christmas dinner..."
