Controlling the Ju 87

Hi, I,m finding the Ju 87 a bit of a temperamental beast to fly ? I'v flown it clean, take off/circuit/and landing, but even then just a little to much bank and she starts to slide? but managed to go round and land even if i did run off the end and into the snow.

So decided to go on a mission [ground attack] chose a 1000lb  after take off, climbed away with full flaps, and as soon as I started turn it slid off into a spin and bang!! . Now even with things like customizing control assistance and simplified physics, i'm still having the same effects ? I suppose it's got to be the weight factor, so what should I do ! don't close the flaps to soon? get more altitude? or try with smaller weapons load?

But I'm still finding this flight sim is full of more surprises, when i first took of in the Ju 87 all seemed well, and then my gunner complained that he was having trouble with his gun position ? and then all the windows in my cockpit froze over, I aborted and tried again but this time all went well !! flew around and landed ? so take nothing for granted when flying BoS.

Cheers. JM.

you managed to climb with full flaps ?       Full flaps are for landing only, they produce extra drag for that purpose.  Take off with little flaps on short runways or no flaps on long runways.

If your gunner complained that he's having trouble with his gun, it may be because you left your canopy open.

When you close your canopy, it also closes the rear one. Then the gunner has control of his gun.

To see what I mean, before you take off, sit in gunners seat and open and close canopy.

The freezing over you mentioned, maybe you just flew into cloud?

Maybe you`ll have less problems when you reduce your take off fuel, especially when you have a high weapon load. Maintain a certain speed (at least 200 km/h) when climbing. That means to maintain a low climb rate, even if it takes a long time to get to your planned altitude.

Maybe you just climb too steeply. It's very heavy will full fuel load and the 1000 kg bomb. Also make sure you set prop pitch to max RPM for take off, but don't use max RPM for too long to prevent engine damage.
