Controls config file location?

Hello all,

I have been trying to find the location of the config file for the game's controls. I looked in the user documents folder, the game directory folders, and had no luck searching for the answer on the forums. Could someone tell me where the controls config file is located? I'm hoping to create a backup copy of my key bindings and sensitivity settings for iL-2.

After several years of never having a back up and countless adjustments. The fact I do not have a backup has been chipping away at me. I would honestly feel at a total loss if I something happened and I had to wipe the computer and lose all my individual controls I have adjusted and memorized.

Ahh so the config is actually several files. No wonder I could not find it. It was not named configuration at all.  lol

For anyone else who has this problem in the future. Here is an image of the directory location. iL-2 Sturmovik / data / input

My game directory is based on steam because I bought battle of stalingrad from steam and linked my steam account to my account on the website. If you bought from the website directly and installed the game then the iL-2 directory will be in a slightly different location. The folders in the directory will be the same however.
