Odd coloring of aircraft exterior/interior

Greeting all,

 

I’d appreciate a little help with an ongoing issue I’m having with my CoD Blitz.

 

Sometimes when I play, the lighting in and on the aircraft appear normal (as in the first 3 screenshots).

However, frequenly when I start the game, the aircraft will appear dark (as in the second 3 screenshots).

 

This happens with the player aircraft as well as A.I. aircraft.  I’ve had it happen in Quick Missions and in missions I’ve made in the Full Mission Builder (even in the View Object viewer in the Full Mission Builder the aircraft sometimes appear dark - sometimes normal).

 

To me, the darker colored aircraft seem to be colored as though they were in darkness - perhaps a night time shading - even though the rest of the environment is in bright daylight.

 

Can anyone tell me what causes this - and how to fix it/make it stop?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve experienced this too. Restarting usually fixes it.

I advise: from time to time - clear the cache folder in my documents. Especially after installing patches. But after changing the settings is also good.

Well, I tried both of those suggestions, and no luck with either one.

 

First I cleared out the cache folder, started up the game - went to a mission, and the aircraft was dark.

Next I exited the game, restarted it - went to a mission, and the aircraft was dark again.

I then exited the game, rebooted my computer, started up the game - went to a mission...and again the aircraft are still dark.

 

Thanks again for the suggestions - but for me they didn't seem to work.

 

So, now I'm back to the drawing board.

Hallo Hot_Rod,

 

Could you please try this:

 

 

-start game

(it`s important to do the next steps before you start a misson!)

-go to "Options"

-then click "Planes", you `ll see the Blenheim Mk IV with the default paintscheme. First second its a `bit blury, then clear, thats o.k.

- go to your mission and have a look.

Ding-Ding-Ding-Ding!  We seem to have a winner here!         ?

 

As you can see from my previous post, I started up the game 3 times in a row and got the dark plane each time.

I just started up the game 3 more times using your suggestion, and got the proper looking plane each time.

I then started the game a 4th time - this time without using your suggestions - and I got the DARK looking plane!

So I started the game a 5th time - using your suggestions - and got the proper looking plane once again!

 

I guess I’ll have to add those two steps to my regular game start process!

 

What an odd solution to an odd problem!
