Zettman Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I managed to break my Warthog yesterday by don't paying attention as I put it toghether after greasing. I broke one of the cables leading to the 5 Pin Mini DIN connector (beginner mistake). Since my attempt to put them togheter with electrical tape and some glue failed (It works but I get malfunctions sometimes). I consider buying the FSSB R3 mod for the Warthog. http://www.alasrojas.com/3.0/?page_id=662 I would like to hear if it is worth the money. If there are any problems, like limited inputforces. And your general opinion on this piece of hardware. About repairing the cable of my Warthog. My soldering skills are not that good, but a friend of mine has done some soldering, so I could ask him. The main problem is, that I don't know which cables to use (I want to replace the old broken one. I already found the 5 Pin Mini DIN Mountingplate that is used in the Warthog. http://www.vetco.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=72_220_231&products_id=6604 But I don't know where to get it in Germany/Europe, the shop desn't deliver to Europe. ST_Pirato Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Can't you just put a piece of cable between the cut off ends, solder them together and put shrink sleeve around? Alternatively you could ask Thrustmaster if they sell you the connector piece. I did the same mistake as you did ,luckiely the wire was only pinched a bit with the isolation still in good condition.
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 The first and only time I checked out the FSSB R3 mod it was just a little under $1,000 aus dollars so I'm happy with my mfg peddles at half the price. It did annoy me that thrusmaster can release a stick in such poor condition namely the poorly finished moulding of the ball and socket . FSSB R3
