6./ZG26_Loke Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 A long time ago, I enjoyed playing Sid Meier's Gettysburg. Today it is a complete out dated game (it's from 1997), and it would not be worth playing. Question is: Is there a simular game out there today? 1

This. Ultimate General Gettysburg is also very good but a bit limited. Scourge of War Gettysburg is also a very good game though not very similar to Sid Meier's in any way. I'm just waiting on a game with Ultimate General style army building, Total War grand campaign, and Scourge of War size battles. My family fought for the Confederacy during the war, a few actually served at Gettysburg. My 3x Grandfather was flag bearer for the 20th Georgia during the battle of Gettysburg, he was wounded during the fighting around Devils Den. He also saw action at the Battle of the Wilderness where he lost his leg. Edited April 27, 2019 by Legioneod 2
6./ZG26_Custard Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Scourge of War - Gettysburg really is great. There are also some interesting mods out there for it which only add to the enjoyment. The same company also produced Scourge of War - Waterloo which is available on Steam.
