American Campaign

Hi is it possible to include p-40's and p-39's in the American Campaign? Just a thought!

As they weren't around in Europe during the time frame I wouldn't think so...

Guess it's back to pretending I'm an American pilot who went to fly for the Russians.

lol, well at the moment, as those two aircraft are in Russian campaigns, you would not have the pilots wearing US flying clothing as the models only come with Russian flight gear...

Upvote...considering that we now have a 1944 Eastern Front Campaign on the Stalingrad map, maybe we could have an 1943 Sicily/Salerno campaign using the Kuban map ? Spit MkV, P40 and P39 flying for USAAF and RAF vs Regia Aeronautica and the Luftwaffe flying Macchi's, BF109G's etc...

I know Normandy is nowhere near dropping but that is when I am going to extend the American timeline back to 1943.

 

Using Kuban for Italy is an interesting idea.  Italy was active for almost the entire war so maybe something could be done.  Biggest issue is that the layout of Kuban is east/west while Italy is North/South.  

 

If you fly as a make believe American for the Russians until 1944 you can transfer to actual American in Bodenplatte

It's not perfect, but Crimea could pose as Sicily (or even Sardinia) , Kerch -> Messina  , and the rest some kind of "twisted " Italy mainland (Calabria , Salerno-Naples area or whatever)...distances will be incorrect but it could be a fun campaign...

It's not distance that bothers me as much as direction.  The allies will be advancing from west to east instead of north/south.

I've also wondered about using the Stalingrad autumn map as a proxy for the North African campaign - P-40s, Spit V (RAF and USAAF), Hurricanes, Boston, Mitchell - obviously the map is missing the coastline though.
