BulletByte Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 (edited) Hi all, i started to play BoS and just configured my TrackIR. Everything runs fine but the "zoom in". When i zoom in with Shift/MouseWheel i get a maximum zoom. When i lean forward with TrackIR the zoom in stops at appr. 50% of the range i had with the "manual" zoom. I already configured the Z axis of TrackIR to be more sensitive but no effect. When i start BoS the TrackIR Software shows it successfully as BoS and the right green light is on. I have no light in the room and i do not loose track. I get the full range when viewing the Z-motion in the TrackIR Software. Any hints for a newbie? ? Edited April 25, 2019 by BulletByte
BulletByte Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 I found this one: https://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/12828-how-use-zoom-track-ir/ This works but after exiting BoS the file current.map gets orverwritten with some defaults and resets for whatever reason action("bc_head_trans_x_p","State","_trackir_axis_Z"); Any help?
J2_Steve Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 It's not easy to set up the track IR to zoom. Default lean behaviour is like real life. You will get closer to the interments but it won't zoom in to the distance. Like reality laeaning into the instruments will make them bigger, but looking at a distant object you are only a few inches closer. I prefer to use my hat switch to zoom in and out.
13Nrv Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 (edited) I second what J2 steve F on that Zoom on track ir , is not a great idea , at least to my opinion ...it s waaaay more efficient and /natural to use , to set zoom where ever you want on your throttle or joystick , and on an axis : hat/ rotary /slider depending of what you own and of your liking , than trying to make it work through track ir .... ....i ve tried this years ago , and even if you finally find a good speed and range , it is nothing natural to use ... at least for me ...keep this Z axis for "leaning" , and set your zoom elsewhere right under your fingers ... 13 Edited April 26, 2019 by 13Nrv
