IonicRipper Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) What is this thing found on the tail of the Ju-87 just behind the gunner seat? Almost looks like a dynamite stick... Is it for seft-destruction in case of a crash landing behind enemy lines? Edited March 3, 2014 by IonicRipper
Pierre64 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 More probably the antenna of EZ6 radio direction finder 1
IonicRipper Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Ahh I see, thanks Milo. Its for the direction finder for anyone else who wants to know.
Pierre64 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Peil GIV: This is the same device IMO, but with a bumped plexiglas dome (as seen on some Bf 109 E night fighters) Peil G6: 1
johncage Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 what is stuka's advantage over il-2 other than better look?
6high Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Well- it`s a dive bomber, so it can deliver bombs with pin-point accuracy. I don`t think you can compare the two really, as one was a dedicated ground-attacker, the other a (dive)Bomber only. And about the looks- that is highly subjective. I find them both great- like blond and brown hair 6
FTC_Karaya Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Would be interesting to have a Ju87D-5 with 20mm cannons & working StuVi sight at a later point 2
senseispcc Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 The Ju88 has the same radio aid at the same place on top of the fuselage behind the canopy.
