I had this working previously and hadn't touched the controller in months, but then had to reinstall OVR, DriverVR, and the latest Windows update, and now I have this issue. I created the virtual Vive controller setting in OVR, and saved it, but the WMR controllers come up even though they are off. Perhaps there's a setting in Mixed Reality Portal that makes them look like they're on. Yes, I've used this guide from the very start as well as QB's in this thread. Everything worked before I had to do the reinstall. I mean : you should use the post for your questions, instead of using this one and so divide questions and answers on two posts for the same need. GOA_Karaya_VR Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Guys, this method for check my 6 can be used with Oculus Rift CV1? Thanks -S-
362nd_Thorns Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) Hello, and thank you for this VR mod. Question: I have the look back setup as described, and it works great in IL-2. But in DCS in the clickable cockpit (high fidelity), and the look back setup on, how do I get the mouse to work in the cockpit for switches? Thanks for you help! EDIT: I figured it out! Thanks! Thanks -S- This is really what I want to know--if this will work with Oculus CV1 controllers? I followed everything the QBCreep said and could not get it to work with the CV1 controllers. I am desperately needing help with setting this up from the smart folks who have done this with Oculus CV1....
HunDread Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 It should work if you are using SteamVR instead of opencomposite AFAIK.

I am indeed using SteamVR beta (as suggested), sir. I followed everything that was on QBCreep post, but still not getting the view to work. When I click on the keyboard the "W" key, nothing happens: I do not get the 6 o'clock view. I wish someone would either post a video about this or does a step by step on how to set this up for Oculus CV1 users. I hate to sound needy, but I really did follow every step that QBCreep has suggested in his updated post.... Thanks again! <Salute>

Barn-Owl Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Hi HunDread, I followed the above link verbatim. I can get this to work in Steam VR with the controller, but cannot get it to work in the game. For some odd reason, Driver4VR (the program you use once you have adjusted the settings in Steam VR settings) seems to recognize Vive controllers AND my Oculus controllers. There, I think, lies in the problem: I cannot delete the Vive controllers out. I uninstalled Steam VR then re-installed it. I also un-installed Drive4VR and re-installed it, all to no avail. The program for some odd reason seems to see the Vive controllers, even when they are not there.... Very odd! Edit: ok, now I can use the Oculus Controller to see my 6'oclock when in the game, but when I press "W" on the keyboard, nothing happens.... Any thoughts? Edited December 7, 2020 by Friction

Agreed that something going wrong in Driver4VR seems the most likely cause. Can you make screenshots of your DriverVR configuration? Especially the screen where you to bind the Vive controller buttons to the keyboard keys.

Here are the screenshots, I do hope that you can help me! I do not know why the below Vive controllers are there and why they pop up in SteamVr, both as seen in the window below and also in the VR environment itself when I have my Oculus headset on.... I only have Oculus CV1 and its controllers and do not have the Vive system or its controllers. I do not know how to get rid of them or disable them....

Edit: ok, now I can use the Oculus Controller to see my 6'oclock when in the game, but when I press "W" on the keyboard, nothing happens.... Any thoughts? First of all: it has been a while since I set up the view trick and secondly, I use a HP Reverb myself, not the Oculus so take that in account. I remember that the first time I tried to get it to work, I was wondering if in step 4 of c6_lefuneste's description I should bind the “snap-turn left” to the left grip button of the Vive controller (which I don't own) or to the left grip of the controller that I have myself, i.e. the Windows mixed reality controller. I figured that he most likely was to bind it to the controller that comes with my VR headset (so, the Windows mixed reality controller) and I didn't get the snap view trick to work. I went back to the set up, but this time I chose the Vive controllers (which I don't have) as described in c6_lefuneste's explanation and that worked. So with that in mind, I would advise not trying to bind the snap view to your Oculus controllers, selecting the Vive controllers should work, even though you don't have them. Here's what it looks like in SteamVR in my configuration: I will share my Driver4VR screenshots of my working configuration so that you can try to replicate them if there are differences: Notice: no Windows Mixed reality controllers here (I have my Windows mixed reality controllers turned off here). These seem to be the same... Here again: I used the Vive controller even though I own Windows mixed reality controllers myself. Also, I used K and J for keys myself, but that obviously shouldn't make any difference. I don't know why you have different values for the "50% value thumbstick" and "50% value trackpad" but I don't expect these to be of influence, but feel free to experiment. I can't remember doing anything with these values. And this is my SteamVR: With the Vive controllers and again, not the Windows mixed reality controllers. BTW, my Windows mixed reality controllers do show up in SteamVR and Driver4VR when I turn them on, but I never use them. Here is SteamVR when I put turn my right Windows mixed reality controller on (left and right show up when I turn them both on, I used the batteries of the left controller for some Christmas illumination however, so... ?): And the same for Driver4VR: So my advice would be to configure your setup with Vive controllers instead of the Oculus controllers and check your screens with those I showed you. I hope this helps. 1

I followed your exact suggestions and I finally got it working and mapped to the joystick POV as a check 6 view toggle button (using JoyToKey).
