Cannot connect to master server (not yet played)

[ IL2 Battle of Stalingrad, Steam Copy, Win 7 ]

 

I've been trying to resolve an issue with login on first entering the game. Not yet been able to play at all because I can't get past the authentication. I keep coming up against this (on multiple occasions since last week):

So far I've tried:

• Disabling firewalls and antivirus
• Running straight from IL2.exe
• Creating account on forum first and linking to that (I get "password/email wrong"; although if it was I wouldn't be here typing this)
• Verifying game files
• Re-installing the game
• Running as Administrator
• Opening ports 80 and 443 on the router
• (edit: Oh, and removing Nvidia GeForce Experience)

 

Any assistance greatly appreciated, at this point I'm not sure what else to do.

Hi! I have the same problem. It says "check your internet connection" I also have reinstalled the game but I am still getting the same message when logging in.
 

I am tired of googling [edited] and trying everything out. Please help... Thank you!

So I had the chance to speak to support about this and they were able to fix the issue! I provided them with my 17-digit SteamID number and they were able to link that up with my IL2 account manually, which seems to be the process that was going awry. Once they'd linked the account, I signed into the game using my steam id and it went straight in. Seems it may have been a case of misleading error message, making it look like a connectivity issue.

 

Might be worth noting on a troubleshooting sticky somewhere for users getting this message on first-time use; as I mostly just found posts of people getting this message due to the server being down etc.
