BornToBattle Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Apparently there is what looks like a solid pier which runs perpendicular to the water in the town of Khosta. I purposely over-revved my engine in the U-2VS and attempted an emergency landing on it. The surprising result is that it is not solid, but landing on it suddenly allows one’s planes to immediately sink below the pilings and into the water. Hence, we drown. Just an FYI.

Thanks for the 'heads up', i'll try to avoid landing on piers. Much like real pilots did.

My point is not whether one chooses or not to pick the safest place for landing at Khosta. The large, flat docking facility is depicted as a concrete structure, not a clapboard fishing pier but I assumed you didn’t know this judging from your reply. It does not tigger an aircraft collision regardless of whether or not one chooses to attempt a landing on it. Instead it’s treated as an invisible object, much like a theoretical tech issue of being able to have a wing pass through the side of a building undeterred. Nonetheless, landing on a large, flat concrete pier is just about as crazy as trying to fly through a barn, much like real life pilots tried to avoid as well. Cough...cough...
