Mc202 a real joy to fly

And it seems to carry a lot of ammo. Really enjoying the career mode of course it being fall 41 makes the plane very good. Btw on that - in game on the plane notes it says conbat intro June 42. How am I flying combat in fall 41 then?

Also the visibility aint all that - I wonder how great itd be online.. Heh

We can fly it in 41 because the game developers made it so.

I love it too, because I have a secret Italy fetish on the mediterrean theatre, north africa theatre, I play the italians in "Theatre of War Africa", I play them in "Hearts of Iron 3 Black Ice", I play them online in "Red Orchestra - Mare Nostrum", I love Tintoretto, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Alighieri, Pizza and Red Wine - simply the Palms on a beach with Grappa and Dolce Vita in Florenz.

But the MC202?

Yes, as I said, I love it - but for me its very hard to fly online in it, its stalling sometimes in a turn fight (where you need flaps out sometimes to 40%) because of the asymmetric wings.

I bought it to support devs despite "jss what an ugly plane"thought, first time flown it a year after purchase being forced by server planeset and i was thrilled how nice experience it was.

No other plane in il2 give me more immersion/feel of flight (maybe cos it reminds me on AT-802, plane i worked on for a short period of time).

Absolutely beautiful plane and a true pleasure to fly. One of my favourite rides, for sure - only the armament is lacking.

interesting. I LOVE the armament.  The twin 12.7s and 2 7.7s work like a charm for me especially as Luftwaffe planes in 41 and 42 CANT take damage.  Love the squadron logo too - the scarecrow smoking a pipe.

Yes its a real joy to fly.  Its a bit of a pig with the gondolas for the 20mm (weird the few km/h hurt but Im basing it off desperately tryinf to keep up with a flight..)

I have to say besides the FW and other obvious ones though the best armed plane IMO as far as best trade off for not too many guns/good combo is the Yak7B.  The 2 12.7s and the cannon literally are perfect - for me.  In SP (!!) I can consistently on good days kill 4 or 5 planes if I wait to shoot..

Interesting aside how do you guys do bomber intercepts? Its an interesting trade off. You can go for kills or you can disrupt their mission and MAYBE get a kill or two.  If you damage one bomber out of each vic enough they drop their payload and that vic turns back. Ive noticed a head on pass and then a screaming pass from the low 6 can be enough to damage 4 or 5 bombers (basically making them all turn back) so mission victory but often no kills.  And of course all too often I end up with a broken engine...

My poor guy in my Mc202 campaign. I actually groaned out loud when he died. I was going to belly land in a field.  Did what I had just described to He111s.  Downed 2.  I stalled about 100 feet (trying to dodge a treeline) desperately recover and flare which levels me at 30 or 40 feet.. And a vicious wing drop and stall and wham. Fireball.

i especially love it when i get them on fire (any plane)

taste is a funny thing. I like the way teh Yak7 looks. Most VVS fighters are mehh looks wise to me. The Mc202 isnt beautiful or ugly to me.  But its awesome to fly.  One wings even shirter than the other as a design feature. All around interesting little bird.  I like the ammo counters style too.

And the fuel gauge also is interesting..
