=FEW=ayamoth89 Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Yeah, I'm not very used to the P-39. I find it difficult to aim with, not a good aiming platform but I think I made it through anyway. If you have any suggestion about mastering the P-39,let me know please! 1 3
Ehret Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 You have done fine. The thing which is counter-intuitive in the P-39L are radiators - the lowest drag setting is not closed but 60% for the water rad and 45% for the oil rad. It's called "flush radiators" and you can keep flush as long you have some speed (and weather is not too hot).

There is no special trimmers setting; change them as you fly to stay level and coordinated. For the P-39L as it's in game it's best to use hit and run tactics if survival is your priority. Best engine performance is at the super-charger critical altitude at about 3000m but will reduce sharply after 4km. You should start engagements at high speeds but not higher than 450mph indicated (controls will lock-up after that). It's ok to attack the enemy if he is fast too because you will enjoy great instantaneous turning ability and if something goes awry you can dive and run away in most cases. Avoid low and slower (under 250mph indicated) turning fights like a plague, thought. It can be done sometimes but it's very risky and engine will overheat shortly. 1
