=362nd_FS=RoflSeal Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Ingame the Sherman can only depress the gun -5 degrees for some reason. The real Sherman could do double that Also the Sherman ingame revs over 4000 rpm. Max RPM for the M4A2's twin diesels were 2250. The idle speed ingame is roughly 1000 rpm when it should be 400-600rpm. From TM9-731B
Torrens Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 (edited) Do you mean that full-load single engine has 2100 rpm max or both combined? Not sure if no-load mattters since tanks always start with full-load. Could it be that devs combined the rpm for a total of 4000? That would also make the iddle speed around 1000. Just guessing. The -5 degree depression should be fixed if that is the case. Edited April 8, 2019 by Torrens

From TM9-731B Could it be that those specifications are for training only, because US vehicles are equipped with a GOVERNOR, that is disengaged in combat. Hence not wearing down engines in training situation.

No they wouldn't be combined, it's why there are 2 tachometers 33 minutes ago, Ze-GunnyHighway said: Could it be that those specifications are for training only, because US vehicles are equipped with a GOVERNOR, that is disengaged in combat. From the tank dataplate if that tank reaches 25mph at 1800 rpm, it should reach ~30 mph at 2250mph If Dmitriy Loza's account is accurate that they were doing 70kph on the road to Vienna in their Shermans that would mean the engines would be revving at 3300 rpm.
1CGS Han Posted April 9, 2019 1CGS Posted April 9, 2019 Negative elevation to be fixed in the next update. "From the tank dataplate if that tank reaches 25mph at 1800 rpm, it should reach ~30 mph at 2250mph" Wrong, 25*2250/1800=31.25 3
Fliegel Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 (edited) Little detail: The ammo inside the tank is black with white markings. That is M61 APC (APCBC) traced ammo without the HE filler (it is not M72 though, since it has caps and is partially hollow). But the tank in-game used M61 APC with the HE filler (APCHEBC) which should be olive with yellow markings UK manual for ShermanThe filled projectile is painted olive-drub with yellow lettering: – "75 G Proj APC M61 with tracer." The unfilled projectile is painted black with white lettering: – "75 G Shot (or Proj) APC M61 with tracer." Sherman top speeds are all over the place, you will find dataplates for A2/A3/A4 tanks where the top speeds are clearly taken from M4/M4A1 with the radial engine. It must of been done by mistake as there is no other reason. The production Shermans all had the same gear ratios and final drive ratios, so all Shermans of the same sub-variant should have the same automotive performance. There is only one exception, which is the M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman which had a different final drive ratio to account for the greater weight and reduced the top speed
