gombrowitch Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Hello, pilots! Which GPU should be enought to run this game in 4k in 60 fps?
Hartigan Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 If Nvidia then don't go below 1070 TI....? Gtx1080TI should do the job
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 If you're willing to adjust some settings, GTX 1080-class cards are sufficient. Otherwise, try to get the strongest card you can get. 1
336th_Porkie- Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 currently i have a gtx980 and have been thinking of upgrading to rtx2080ti and later getting a 4k monitor, or vr headset. my concern is, that will IL-2 improve their game engine to make use RTX cards anytime in the future.
Panzerlang Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 RTX, ray-tracing, otherwise save yourself a big lump of money and get a 2nd-hand 1080ti because the minor percentage bump in grunt of the RTX isn't even remotely worth the massive price premium. NVidia are way overdue for a big wake-up call on their rampant greed.

Mitthrawnuruodo Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 (edited) There have been no statements from the developers regarding plans for new graphics technologies. Adding DXR effects would require a huge rewrite of their rendering system, so it's not a feature that's likely to appear any time soon. In the past, the developers have said that they prefer to avoid features restricted to certain hardware from a single vendor. That's a problem with things like DLSS. However, top RTX cards are still the strongest in traditional rasterization workloads, so they're not a bad choice if you need more power for 4K or VR. Edited April 22, 2019 by Mitthrawnuruodo
kstab Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 I think you might find this video useful.. i5 and rtx 2060 at 4k.

The RTX 2080Ti is a nice card but DLSS is bogus. All it is doing is upscaling a lower res image to 4K. The image quality is really poor a single 1080Ti will run this game in 4K at max settings 60fps with no trouble.

Using deep learning to figure out how lacking detail should be drawn is super interesting. Imagine the reduction in workload from today's brute force upsampling, and the accuracy compared to today's anti aliasing techniques. It is far from bogus, and it's doing far more than scaling up an image. It is working out what the missing pieces would need to look like without directly rendering it. 1
[CPT]Crunch Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 From the other house, https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11276-02-40G-Radeon-Pulse-Graphics/dp/B07BGZNTQJ Pretty much the equivalent of a 1080. And if you OC it much more. Not a bad price either.

It’s a fail. It gives worse image quality than simply upscaling at an equivalent performance level Edited May 12, 2019 by SharpeXB
Elem Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Well I'm using a Radeon RX VEGA 56 OC to run a 4K 40" Monitor and it's doing that comfortably between 60-100+ fps. That's a lot of pixels to be pushing around that fast.
