VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) The rZ axis on my Crosswind has started slipping. Has anyone had this issue and know the solution? One of the axis on my Virpil Joystick was slipping and it was a bolt that needed tightening. Thanks Stick Edited April 9, 2019 by VBF-12_Stick-95
TWC_Ace Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) Ask Milan he has a great support. I dont have such a problem with my pedals. I know there is a way to reset the pedals and calibrate again. Edited April 5, 2019 by =VARP=Tvrdi
Guest deleted@83466 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) I have no idea this is the problem you are really having, but I had something come loose and slip very early on. if you take the whole thing apart, you *might* find there is a nut resting on the face of the main bearing that is slipping. You have to tighten it a little so that the thing isn't slipping, but not too tight against the bearing or otherwise it won't turn right. So for that, you use Locktite to essentially glue the nut onto the bolt...The thing was secured with Locktite when it was built, but it might not have been enough, or it simply wore away after lots of use. Somewhere on Youtube, there is a video where Milan goes through the entire assembly of all the peices, and it's worth watching before you take it apart. If you aren't comfortable taking it apart and seeing what needs to be done, and then putting it back together again, then VARP is probably right, you should contact MFG for support (I felt I needed to add this, because if you took my advice and managed to totally foul the thing up beyond all recognition, I would feel really bad...but probably not as bad as you would ?). TWC_Ace Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) Newer pedals doesnt have that problem, Serpent. The nut is different so it cant spin even if you force like mad and the glue is better. My pedals had some clicking noise when crossing the center and I fixed that with just releasing a bit (very little) the main nut which holds the main bearing and magnet (and the plate above that). Basically I disassembled the whole pedals and checked all the nuts and all the moving parts. Now its super smooth. But like I said, ask MIlan first. mfg@simundza.com Edited April 5, 2019 by =VARP=Tvrdi
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) Thanks guys. I do have a note into Milan. I have one of the early V2s. I suspect the nut is the issue. I have had them apart in the past to replace the electronics board (only affected a few of the early V2 users). The nut is right there also. Edited April 5, 2019 by VBF-12_Stick-95
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 Just in case anyone else has this issue here is Milan's video for the fix.
TWC_Ace Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 (edited) BTW, If any of you ever experience any clicking sound around the center (from the area of the main bearing/magnet) all you need to do is to unscrew a bit (not to much, just a few mms) the nut with the red shrink tube (seen on the preview pic of the video). After that my pedals are super smooth and silent. And....the above video is only for older batches of the pedals up to Serial No. 1964, for owners who have problems with rudder axis centering/calibrating (its explained in the video). II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Glad you found a solution. I’ve found Milan to be very attentive to any issue that comes up. Glad to see he still values customer service as much as he has in the past.
