Omin Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) I was wondering if you can do a campaign in which fighters, bombers and attackers could be used. For example have 109’s and 110’s running missions at the same time. I am running a COOP campaign with other folks and I would be neat for other missions to take place for various roles. I think that could make the battlefield even more alive. I do want to thank you for all of the effort. So far it has been a blast flying a coop campaign and running missions. I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Edited April 1, 2019 by Omin
PatrickAWlson Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 That is PWCG 6.0 - in progress. Check the DD for progress reports. To avoid raising expectations too much PWCG 6.0 is still some months away from completion. I have already written/changed several thousand lines of code and there is more to go. However, progress is being made at a steady rate and the path is known, so it will get there. When PWCG 6.0 is done players will be able to join any side and any squadron. A mission registration feature will be implemented and the campaign host will have the ability to add players to a mission as well. When the host generates a mission every human player will be included, so Harry will be on patrol flying a Yak while John will be doing an intercept in Me 109s and Jane might be up there in a Stuka dive bombing. PWCG will push the missions into the same general area but contact will not be assured. As far as I am aware nothing like this has ever been done. I think a lot of people will have fun with it when it comes out. 2
Omin Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 Hey Pat and thank you for the reply. It has been a lot of fun playing your campaign generator. I know I appreciate the work you are doing in helping to bring a campaign that feels alive to IL2. Having the ability to fly a mixed coop is going to be a blast for the folks that I fly with. I am very much looking forward to your future releases. Thank you.
