Possible to tweak career AI skill levels?

First of all, anyone know how AI skill level is determined for the AI in career, especially the friendlies in your flight? Is skill determined by rank? Secondarily, could someone make a mod to bump friendly skill level up by one for each rank? I'm tired of seeing all of my friendlies get wiped quite so often. I turn over a squadron roster in under two weeks, and I feel like my squadron could do with a bit of a bump up to at least hide a bit more that they ain't too bright.

I've only had a brief look, but some bright spark might be able to get into the AI scripts in the Luascripts folder and edit them so the normal and veterans manoeuvre like aces but still shoot like before.  It would go a long way to fixing some of the complaints about AI that have been going for several years now.

Its easy to make novice into ace AI. Not sure how to change the probabilities or default AI settings though.

 

Quite a bit can be done by altering the AI files but it is very time consuming to test.

I'm encouraged that you wrote this, LizLemon -- How do we make novice into ace AI? I, too, am tired of seeing my squadron mates get beaten so regularly in career mode. Thanks.

It has improved some the last few patches, I'm glad to say, could still be nice to have the option though.
