Voyager Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Just did a night flight in VR, and discovered that because it is very dim, ones eyes dark adapt, right up until the point that you open the map or finish the mission. That's about like someone turning on all the lights in the room in the middle of the night. I'm wondering if there could be some way to universally dim the UI elements when one is in a night mission, or add some sort of control knob for the UI brightness, so one can give oneself some time to adjust after the mission? 3
DEDMANcjp Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 YES! Agree! I don't want this suggestion to get lost in the shuffle. I know for a fact that when navigating by map at night, a red light or at least a very dim white light is used for map reading to keep night vision acute to better identify landmarks. Map is just too bright to look at during night missions. Hope Dev's can work this in near future. c
Jade_Monkey Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 I know the "O"map used to change to night mode. Haven't flown night missions in a long time but it should still be a feature?? Are you talking about the Esc menu? Or the technochat?
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 20, 2019 1CGS Posted May 20, 2019 The "O" map has never changed to a night mode.

Like I said above, it's been a long time since ive flown night, but i know there is (was?) a map that switches to night mode, that i am sure. Edited May 22, 2019 by Jade_Monkey

Would be really nice if that feature was also applied to the O map.
DEDMANcjp Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 just noticed that you can make the big full screen map transparent. doing this dims the brightness as much as you want. try it.
