1CGS LukeFF Posted March 14, 2014 1CGS Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) I have to say LukeFF. That looks like pretty conclusive evidence. I'm not totally sure. Something about that aircraft in the picture screams "doctored" to me (why is an Hs 129 diving from that high of an altitude?). The terrain is Stalingrad, for sure. Edited March 14, 2014 by LukeFF
1CGS LukeFF Posted March 14, 2014 1CGS Posted March 14, 2014 OK, I stand corrected - it looks like Sch.G 1 was in the area of Stalingrad: (From Hs 129 Panzerjaeger, page 88).
Finkeren Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 The HS 129 would be interesting. Still, I wonder, if it would be that popular in game? Given how frustrating underpowered/overweight planes can be to handle in BoS, and given that the historically accurate weaponry for the Hs 129 in 1942 doesn't offer much variation, I suspect that many people would quickly leave it in the hangar. It might be somewhat exciting to fly it in campaign, but online you'd be slow as hell with no surplus of power at any time, have horrendous field of vision, suffer from huge overheating issues and be no better protected from damage than the IL-2.
MiloMorai Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 The Hs129 in the photos is from II/Sch.G.1. The unit also flew Hs123s and Bf109E-7s. http://www.ww2.dk/oob/bestand/schlacht/biischg1.html
