Rei-sen Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I see that majority of custom skins are in 4K for which I also need 4K normal map. If I replace a default 2K normal map with a 4K one, will it mess up the way the default 2K skins will look in game? So say in a career I set a custom 4K skin for my aircraft while my squad mates use default ones, will the default ones be displayed incorrectly (misaligned rivets, etc) due to the 4K normal map? Sorry if it has already been discussed. But I couldn't find the specific answer to my question.
Frenchy56 Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 (edited) Why don't you just try it out? It isn't going to mess everything up if you make backups. Edited March 30, 2019 by Frenchy56
Jade_Monkey Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 I don't think it would mess anything up. To my understanding they are not connected at all, two separate files that are rendered on top of each other. I could be wrong though.
56RAF_Roblex Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 I honestly don't think it matters either way. The normal map does not need to be as detailed as the main layers so I seriously doubt you would notice if you used a 2k normal map with a 4k skin and in the other direction there is no issue at all.
