oilman Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I took the plunge and bought Great Battles today. My first Il-2 purchase since IL2 1946 or RoF back when they first came out. So Got as far as trying to boot the game but get a #10006 Check sum error. Do I have a corrupt file? I know my computer is a little old but it plays RoF well and DCS sorta (kinda slow loading) . I updated the video driver to 15.200.1062.1004 after I downloaded the game because the game was not loading past initial screen where you push the red play button. I'm getting to the second screen where it asks for email and password. I'm logged to IL-2.com and my key status is activated. I'm pretty sure the purchase I made was for Battle of Moscow standard. But the desk top icon and the home file is listed as Great Battles. Also I installed on drive F.
crigby46 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Well I can tell you the desktop icon and install file being listed as 'Great Battles' is just fine, it's because it uses a unified launcher. Essentially you get the same game whichever module you buy, just different stuff unlocked within it. Beyond that I can't be much help though I'm afraid, I've never had that error and I'm on an AMD processor and Nvidia GFX.
oilman Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 Got it going! This (Monday) morning when I tried starting the game it updated itself. That got it going for a short bit. Then my video card drivers just vanished. And none of the driver packs I had would reinstall. So downloaded yet again the same driver. And that worked. But the game would not open #10027 error. So uninstalled and reinstalled. Which meant downloading like 28 Gb or something. But that got the game going and did some tank driving all afternoon. Frame rate was high teens to mid 20's on such an old rig. Low settings. I may try high graphics settings next. Hmmmm... yes lets go do that.
