TESTRiekopo Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) I'm a huge IL2 fan and plan on getting Battle of Stalingrad when it releases. That said, I would love to support the development by buying it early, but $94 is a ridiculous price. Early access prices are supposed to cost less not more because you're paying for a game that isn't finished and you're not going to get for a while. Are there any other lower tiers that I'm missing here? Also, is this game on Steam Greenlight or are there any plans for it to be early access on Steam? Edited February 24, 2014 by TESTRiekopo
FuriousMeow Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) It does cost less. You will pay more in Spring. The lower tiers will be available in Spring at release which will be durin Spring time and not at the end of March. The lower tier has less aircraft as well. Edited February 24, 2014 by FuriousMeow
rolikiraly Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 94 is a 'premium' edition (will give you access to Fw-190 and La-5). Earlier there was a 'standard' edition for ~50$ but it's gone now i think (don't really know why) At final release premium will be 99, standard ~55-60 and possible other editions IIRC
senseispcc Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 You paid for a big "demo" and like all demo's it is not perfect and not the full game. I did know it, paid and happy for the months of fun seeing this great simulation being build with us having the possibility to influence the way it is build, little touches by little touches. Privilege you should not have if you do not buy the limited access to the early development of this simulation. But maybe I am wrong and this only a way to get more money out of us?! This is a great game so I do not think so! 1
Jaws2002 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Keep your money until after release. You'll have more options and you'll know what you get.
BeastyBaiter Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I think the release premium price was stated to be $99 USD. They have also confirmed a standard edition for ~$60 at release and the ability to buy the two premium bonus planes seperately.
Jaws2002 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) True, but I doubt that price will last more than a couple of weeks. That's good time to check the post release reviews. Edited February 25, 2014 by Jaws2002
1CGS BlackSix Posted February 25, 2014 1CGS Posted February 25, 2014 We've set the price for the game at launch in spring 2014: $59,99 for Standard edition and $99,99 for Premium edition. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/?do=findComment&comment=39062 Now you can buy the Premium Edition for the price of $94.99.
Brano Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Start saving your money, that is all I can give as word of advice.Price is set by seller. You,as buyer, can accept it or not.Imagine you try to sell smtg. for certain price. You have 3000 people willing to buy it for the price set (because they know it is worth it) and 30 asking for significant discount.Would you change the price for everyone?
PB0/KGM_Mighty-8 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I understand your point of view Sir, but anyway i also think that asking around 100 bucks for a PC game reach the "to much limit" for the common virtual pilots and can make the people stay playing IL2 FB, ROF or any other good combat simulations rather than playing BOS. Even if we must admit that the work on BOS is very great for the moment. The old IL2 FB already cover the Russian front since many years now and benefits of a great mission editor, a wide community that work hard to improve it years after years for free. Even if nowaday it seems we are reaching the sofware's limitations there is no other combat simulator at this time that can offer so much flyable aircrafts and so much different maps from all around the world. Just my two cents... To be honest, i just bought the premium pre-release a few days ago because the "basic version" were not available anymore and because the euro is near than 30% higher than the dollar - even if i concider me as a combat flight sim addict (more than 20 years playing only this kind of games), many of my virtual squadron buddies haven't bought it because of the actual high price of BOS. best regards
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Yes, but the '46 artists are working for free. The BOS artists are not. I can go see lots of, "music in the park," and some of those artists are VERY talented. On the other hand, I gotta pay cash money to see the London Philharmonic (or insert your favorite pop band here)!
