P-47 bomb release sequence

Hi Gents,

Been taking the Jug up for some very cursory air-to-ground work and discovered that there doesn't seem to be a cockpit indicator for the selected bomb release sequence.

Underneath the main instument panel, there is a sub-panel which is animated and shows whether rockets will be released in salvo, singly, or all at once. No such indicator (that I have discovered) exists for drop armament.

The HUD gives an indication for the selected mode for bombs, ( single or both for wings, and belly) but one would think the RL pilot would need an indicator.

Am I missing something?

Look again, there are handles.

The bomb release handles were all they had.

I dusted off my pilots manual .pdf and came to the same conclusion; should have read up before I posted. 

The two wing handles could be pulled simultaneously  or singly. So, in effect, no "mode" indicator was needed.

The handles on my P-47 do not animate when I select specific bombs to release via the key bind. I like to fly with no techno chat on, but then can't see which bombs will release. Is this an issue on my end?

I just tested both P-47s and the handles all animate properly for me in various release modes. It's a quick motion that occurs the bombs release and then the handles return to their original position.

 

In the bubbletop D-28 the pull handles are long tubes flanking the parking brake handle. In the the D-22 razorback they are T-handles under a safety cover behind the trim wheels. Both P-47 variants also have bomb arming/safety handles aft of the trim wheels; these T-handles are set to the armed position by default in my game.

There is no PRE-release indicator. In reality a pilot had to pull the specific handle to release desired bombs, so you can only see the animation when you actually drop your load.
