About the only info you will get will be from the Developer Diaries.

It has a way to go yet.

There is no specific release date. These projects tend to take around 16-20 months to complete roughly and 1CGS has consistently delivered each and every time.

Are you keeping tabs on the latest developer updates? That should give you a sense of what's happening week or week (nearly) on the projects they are working on.

And for shameless self promotion, Jason gave us some release information which I collated into an article here:

https://stormbirds.blog/2019/01/15/new-2019-il-2-great-battles-content-release-info/

I'm also generally updating everyone on the blog when new information becomes available.

The FW190D-9 and Me262 are next in the pipe and will release sooner than later (perhaps in the next 4 weeks). Jason estimated the P-51D for June/July and it seems that the Tempest V and P-38J are also in simultaneous development so we may see them late summer. There's also the map which is looking stunning.

Same here - waiting for FLYING CIRCUS. Three projects in the works are pretty much to do.
But I hope that with the new engine they will have something lasting a bit.
Will I ever see a "Pacific" sim before I am too old to fly it? I doubt it...

With their goal for Flying Circus series to bring all Rise of Flight content to this engine and then some I imagine we will see content added to this engine on other fronts for a very long time. Even if the next couple of installments of main IL-2 arent about the Pacific we still have many more years ahead of us. Just off that alone we can infer at least another 3-4 installments of Flying Circus based on the number of aircraft in Rise of Flight (40) and the number per pack we are receiving in Flying Circus (11 with 2 additional engine modifications). In my opinion we wont see IL-2 die off for even longer than that as they managed to upkeep the engine into modern standards on several occasions.

As for Bodenplatte we are roughly past the halfway mark of their typical cycles for their main content. As Shamrock was saying these things take about a year and a half and Bodenplatte is just about on the year mark.

Let's see... We got our first Battle of Kuban aircraft (the Bf109G-4) in December 2017 and the final launch patch for Kuban was March 2019. That's 16-months if my brain is working right. First Bodenplatte release was in May (the Spitfire IX and the Bf109G-14) and we're at 12-months. Probably going to take more time than Battle of Kuban but only by a few months is my guess.

I was flying the Spitfire V in September 2017 and I think others were flying it in August 2017 so the gap between first Kuban aircraft and official release is longer than you think!

As a totally annoying and demanding consumer, I would love to get some initial map releases of any of the 3 under development. Appreciate that this is not how the team works, but there are a load of a/c to fly (and many more in the works), so it would be great to have some historical terrain.

One part of me says 'Where is the harm as long as we know it is pre-release and will have bugs?'   but  I know it does not always work like that.  One problem that often crops up is that a developer releases an unfinished product on the understanding that it is just a favour and not the actual release and suddenly they get deluged by people thinking they are Beta testers and they have to report all the parts that are not finished or come up with suggestions for how to improve it.    When they are busy trying to get it finished and already have feedback from real Beta testers they don't need that distraction.

From what i can see in anouncments they started to work on Kuban in October 2016, get first airplane in Dec 2016, and Kuban was finaly relised in March 2018, so thats 18 months of work on it + they made 2 collector airplanes in that same time. From update 3.001:

In the past 18 months we’ve done just that and transformed this generation of Sturmovik into a real leader.

BoBp started in March 2018 and if it will be same 18 months of work then we could expect it around September or Octobar of 2019 to be fully out, (still no collector airplanes for this period) .

I would like if they relised beta map, even just area and textures but no citys just so we get some new area to play, but i dont expect that to happend as all maps were out only when they were fuly finished, we will probably see first Prohorovka map and last BoBp map.

Yes, that is one reason why I do not expect that this would happen. Still, an early access Arras map would be some W. European terrain for the BoBp / FC a/c but not the size of the Rhine / Ardennes main map.

Pretty please with various fruit accompaniments...

That we know about...

Were I a gambling man, I would place some money on the team surprising us here.

Ar 234 uses the same engines as the 262.

Team are pretty comfortable with Merlins now, which powers the Mosquito (TAKE MY MONEY!).

B 25 model exists, and the stated hope is to make it playable.

I reckon these three are most probable.

But if we know one thing about this team, it's that they're full of surprises. I wouldn't rule out more!

Not long ago Jason hinted in some thread that BoBp official release will be somewhere at the end of the year (by hint i mean he didn't deny it when responding to comment).

P51 coming in july, Tempest and p38 following it by 2-3months later(my guess) and there is map that could be released along with one of those two updates.

Than career is left to do as we saw from BoK roadmap, i think career can be worked on only when map is done or nearly done, not much before.

So my guess is November/December official release!

I think they'll avoid giving too much jet power to one side so i don't think Ar 234 is next on collector schedule.

Also big majority of playerbase is fighter oriented and if they go for bomber it could be B-25 since it will be half done as AI rather than going on Mossie.

So far main focus regarding collector planes were fighters so my guess is; spit.xiv, 109g10 or allied jet!

Personally I think we're better off waiting until it's all properly finished instead of opening all the Christmas presents in November...;)

I think we've got at least a decent chance of the Spitfire XIV being on offer. Nothing is a guarantee until they announce their plans of course.
