JG27*Kornezov Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 I never taught that extension from the JaBo attack can be so intense. Slightly damaged by AAA and with reducing speed bombrack the last thing you want is to fight, but sometimes you do not have the choice. So all the fights here are with energy disadvantage fighting my way out. So basically: 109 k3 versus Spitfire, yak 1 b, La 5 FN and P39. Being bounced is the harsh reality of JaBo missions. 3 1
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Well done. Sorry I couldn't stick around longer the other night. I need to learn how to actually dogfight one of these days.

My previous post was deleted... S! Ed. No problem. What I did was to try to imitate the best Virtual pilots I met, trying to identify their patterns. I did not do that alone but with friends. So I learned from a lot of players, I had the privilege to contact some of the best dog-fighters in this game and the previous. Sometimes, I do not know them personally but I watch their tracks and I am looking what they do, and when they do it with their control surfaces. That is why the videos from cockpit view are less useful for me. For example DavidRed was very influential for me on the German side. From the Russian side AK77 and Rambo. Regarding tactics I learned from Papafly form our squad of JG27. So I try mixing up different styles and the maneuvers become more diverse, as I am not able to make an exact copy. I spent a lot of time looking and the telemetry graphics and data from tacview. It was difficult because back then the tacview export was completely flawed. However I managed to extract some patterns. Every pilot has a kind of individual telemetry signature, the way he employs G, angle of attack etc. For example it is common among the best pilots is the following pattern, they apply very high Gs in very short bursts, for example a hard turn is immediately followed by a compete unloading, change of direction in unloaded state (through optimal stick and rudder coordination no shortcut there). If a guy who cannot match those maneuvers is behind them he is not able to maintain position for long. Regarding the maneuver against the Spit (beginning of the video 0:43) it is from the book Fighter combat Tactics and Maneuvers. The key is to force the opponent into flaps at the moment 5.
