A Guide for Career Mode?

Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive guide for how the career mode works? For the most part its pretty intuitive but I see questions popping up on the forums sometimes that I don't know the answer to despite playing career mode for a while.

I seem to recall reading a little walkthrough of the functionality in one of the dev diaries or update posts, but I didn't find that on a quick comb through the archives.

I think most people can figure out enough of the system to get playing but it would be nice to have a breakdown of how everything works - things like how to transfer squadrons, what effects the various settings have, what mission types there are and how that is affected by various factors like side, aircraft choice, date and position of squadron, etc.

If there isn't something already I'd be willing to do an unofficial write-up/guide if people think its a good idea.
