No idea what is funny about wanting a save game function. Any half decent game allows at least single player progress saving.

I spent nearly 3 hrs on Friday roaming around the Moscow map, smashing anything destructible with the Tiger.

Then realised the time and that i had to go out. Having no way of saving my progress.

Is a right pain in the pineapple chunks.  ?  ?

Im not really a SP but i think "save" options are pretty thin on the ground across most sims. Likely to be some reason for this but, Id agree, that on the face of it it does seem a faily reasonable feature request especailly now the slow pace of tank grinding is a thing. Long since gotten board of restarting tank missions and doing the long grind to action time and again.

Like you im Dogbert Im not sure it called for the reaction you drew but given who its from i wouldnt expect more.

I don't really know anyone on the forum SCG_BOO (i am sure i know that name from somewhere else). ;)

So my remark about not thinking it was funny, was in general buddy.

The post it self was met with total apathy. Which i find strange indeed.

Most of the simulators i play have a save function, 5x Train Sims, EU Truck Sim 2,  too name a couple i play on a regular basis.

Not to worry, if the majority do not want a save function then so be it.

I am new to all this flightsim gaming, so i guess i need to know my place as a newbie.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply SCG.

Your place is equal to anyone elses here save perhaps from the Devs and the Admins. Cripes if we didnt have new forum members contributing it would be a very dull ground-hoggy kind of place.

And your views/thoughts are just as valid as any of the longer standing members who can occasionaly be as guilty of being blinded by their own self importance and dogma as a new member can be of asking for something that may have been discussed at some point in the past.

Id say the majority havent even thought of a save function or not raised for fear of being patronised. Its a good idea in my book. Whether it can be implemented without taking away from other development priorities or even if it is posible at all is by the by.

Keep the observations coming i say.

I've always thought a save-game or even save-state function would be a very valuable addition to a next-gen flight sim.  I could then fly historically longer missions in real time without sacrificing work and family commitments.  I could also revisit favourite moments in missions or even share the save points with friends.

As long as not even track replays are back-compatible, it's rather illusory to dream about that. Just saying ;)

Agree. A save feature would be great to have.
