Uufflakke Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 While searching for something else I stumbled into a serie of coloured images of WWI: Battle of the Somme. "The original black and white photographs were painstakingly colourised over a number of months by electrician Royston Leonard, 55, from Cardiff, south Wales, and bring to life the stark reality of life in the trenches of the First World War. " https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5395193/Incredible-images-bring-life-devastation-Somme.html Perhaps a similar topic has been posted already but I haven't found it (yet). 1 1

HansBlitz Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I saw "They shall not grow old" at the theater and thought it was extremely well done. I stayed for the 30 minute extra after where Peter Jackson explained all they did to put together the footage for movie and color it. I also was glad I stayed for that. Was quite amazing.

Cpt_Cool Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 (edited) It was an incredibly unique film. What a strange mixing of cutting edge technology and 100+ year old subject matter. And to top it off, it was very effective. Edited March 15, 2019 by Cpt_Cool
Gambit21 Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 He has so much more footage still. He could do a series - I’d like to see more aviation related footage.
