Bizarre Since Update - Won’t Take Any New Settings

As the title says, I can’t get IL-2 to take ANY changes in the graphics menu anymore. Everything from the initial start screen and screen resolution all the way through any settings within the game for graphics. I make a change in the opening launch screen to change the 2D screen from 1024x768 to 3840x2160, then close the window, go back in and it reverts back to the original 1024x768 setting.

 

Go into the game menu under graphics, make a change to say shadows from medium to ultra, accept and restart the game, go back in and look under graphics options and it resets back to the medium setting again.

 

Anyone else experiencing this? It recognizes me changing the settings, but upon closing out the window and/or restarting the sim it fails to hold the settings I previously input.

 

I had trimmed things back for frame rates for VR  is the post on Tips and Tricks. I simply hated the jagged shadows so figured I could go in and simply change the shadows settings back up to Ultra. Nope. This is when I discovered it now doesn’t want to hold ANY changed settings I create including the screen resolution.

 

I’m stumped. First time this has happened. I knew I shouldn’t have screwed with my settings, but still, it should take and hold the changes I make. Something is afoul here. Using Open Composite too.

Just to verify..since the update even the preset graphics settings of Low, Medium, High and Ultra don’t work anymore either. If I click on any of the presets it doesn’t change a thing over on the graphics side of the menu. Seems like it totally corrupted it. Sigh...guess I have to reinstall everything all over agin from scratch.

Problem solved. Had to switch the Startup.cfg file back from Read Only. Once I did that I constantly got a CTD. Had to reinstall Steam VR unfortunately as with the new update Open Composite gives me a CTD every time.
