Unit ID boxes and trim control.

Last couple of attempts with BOS, where I've had this game for less than a week mind you, I've noticed I'm missing the unit box markers (like in red with the range and the unit, or blue with the range and unit) are missing.  I found the list with the general settings for difficulty and such, and the box for that was checked already.  I rechecked it and approved it, then went back to a quick mission and the problem goes on.  So any idea on correcting this?

A lesser problem is that for those same couple of times and lately, I can't seem to adjust for trim.  I check the keys for elevating or roll or yaw and I still get nothing out of it.  Is that part of the same issue?

Just as an aside, what are the tiny blue boxes on the right side of the screen for?  I don't know anything about those.

On the trim, what plane are you flying? Not all of them have trim.

The 109 and 190 don't have any trim tabs, but the do have adjustable elevators; just blind those to the same things you have your elevator trim set to.

Finally, most of them have a fairly narrow trim range.

but I was not quick enough lol!

For the VVS planes, the yak and the Il-2 have no rudder or aileron trim but do have pitch trim. La-5 has all three. Pe-2 has all three as well. MiG-3 has rudder and pitch trim. I-16 has no trimming ability at all. I haven't flown the P-39 or P40 yet so I don't know what those have.

To be honest I almost never use aileron trim.

Not sure what you mean by the unit boxes? Are you talking about fuel weights, convergence settings, etc? If you can take screenshots of what you talk about and post them we might know better what you mean.

I'll have to look up elevator adjustors.  What are those called in the key listings?  It was for the 109s.  My bad.  I just thought trim was a universal in aircraft.

No it's simple for what I called unit boxes.  I just meant the highlighting boxes for the other planes for instance.  Gives range, and name of plane.  Red for enemy, etc.  What I'm seeing is the plane without the highlighted box.  Just nothing else.  You know what I mean.

If you just meant you can move the elevators and nothing like trim at all,  no kidding.

I don't use markers myself so I can't help you there, but as for trim;

The 109 has stabilisers, and the 190 does too, (although they are separate in the options menu). The sim models each aircraft as they were originally built, so if the trim on one aircraft is different to that of another, or even missing entirely, it's because it was that way historically.

Oh, I call those icons. Uhhh...Ive never flown with them in this sim, so Im not really sure how they work. The I key "I" think turns them on and off I think, as long as you have them checked off under realism and view settings. Maybe you accidentally turned them off.

Yeah might have to hit the "I" key to turn them back on.

Yeah OK, I'll look for the "I" key in the list and try that next time it happens.  Seemed like I had unchecked the box for instruments accidentally from some key, and when I checked it of again under realism the unit boxes were back on. Funny.

Right now as of today I've begun the wait for the better graphics card and the better power unit for my PC.  Until I get those things and get them installed, the frame rate is absurdly low and I feel it's making everything more complicated to do.  I'm only getting like nine frames for FPS!  So,  I'm just trying to pick this up in little bits while it just runs choppily.  Then play without the handicap when my hardware is in.

What are those tiny blue boxes on the right side, vertically placed?  Seems like indicators of what you have set for something, but I don't know what they mean.

You are a brave man, and here I am whining about not getting a constant 90fps in VR. I just sold a 1070 for only 200 bucks locally would of shipped it out to you for a solid price.

Well thanks.  It's always like this sort of, where I have to get new hardware to run something right, after I've had a machine for several years.   I'm just dealing with what I have and I'm intending to be practical about it.  As I remember, it was kind of the same thing with the original IL-2 before, around 2002 or so when I decided to get a whole new computer to be able to use it.  I mean I had that in mind.
