That's neat trick but fully open throttle lasts only for 15s (30s if you are very lucky) before engine seizes.

It's not certain but looks like the V-1710 has about 70" of MP and +1700hp, then. I dare to use that only as last line of defense or when I'm at gliding distance to a friendly airfield.
