quartermiler1 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I have not found a way to cause damage with bombs carried by allied aircraft. The cooper bombs visibly release and fall to target areas, create a small but brief puff of smoke (or dust) but do not cause damage or leave craters on ground surfaces. I have set delay from contact to 5 seconds and do not activate safety switch. Do these bombs work for other pilots, or are we awaiting future work to fully enable them? Great aircraft, by the way.
quartermiler1 Posted March 7, 2019 Author Posted March 7, 2019 Thanks, Hellbender. I set the delay for the WW I aircraft back to "Default". Perhaps my online buddies and I will get it sorted out. I appreciate the response.
Garven Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 At low altitude you will need to set the bomb fuse to at least 5 second delay just like the WWII VVS bombs otherwise they won't arm.
Oorpii Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 There's an option contact, why not use that or am I missing something?
NO.610jailor Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Hi buddy Just to confirm the bombs do work. I have been able to hit factories, ammo dumps, guns. Have had success with railway bridges but none hitting concrete bridges. So keep going, it's only practice.

Contact setting on bombs works if dropped from high enough altitude. the fuses used for contact type of detonation need sufficient time of flight to arm themselves. The types of fuses used for delayed detonation required less time of flight before arming. This was true for WW2 bombs at least. There's a thread about in the main forum.
JG1_Butzzell Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 S! Once in the air you must arm the bombs. 1

Oorpii Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 This is really confusing, in ROF I just load the bombs, drop from height or dive bomb. Is it different in FC?
Zooropa_Fly Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 You're having a bad week Oorpii The same as in your video happens with me when I drop bombs parked. However they work Ok when I drop them from the air.. with a 5 second delay... Does this mean there's no longer any point in telling noobs to start the engine with 'B' ? Drat and double drat !

Zooropa_Fly Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 I reckon they're working ok in the ship video above. They are exploding, and I would think it would take more bombs than that to sink a ship that size. No visible damage though, as you point out. Maybe it's not modelled since it's a ww1 plane and a ww2 ship.. ? Hopefully someone in the know might chip in here.. S!
