Sheriff88 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Suddenly today I get this message when trying to replay tracks that were recorded!!! I did delete some skins but even tracks that should not have been effected are not playable.Any idea why? Thanks.
SShrike Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I had some old tracks not playable after certain updates. Not remembering when or what message I received. I just figured they were a write off due to update changes. Not good but I didn't know how to go about fixing it.
Docjonel Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Same thing happening to me on all tracks recorded before today.
Ghost666 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Yes all tracks recorded before the update, you can write off.☹️
Wolfram-Harms Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 (edited) I had the same in WAR THUNDER. The latest UPDATE brought changes which made all my REPLAYS obsolete. This can happen when a game is still getting updated; it is no game problem - it is only just a pity. I had a REPLAY where I killed 5 tanks in a row without getting killed myself. Saved it to make a little video of it one soon day. Gone with the wind now. Not sure if I can ever be that good again - sob! Edited March 6, 2019 by Wolfram-Harms
unreasonable Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I learned this the hard way too. If you are making a film, or just want a record of your favourite missions, take movie shots from the track as soon as possible with FRAPS or similar. This is not going to stop happening any time soon: as long as the team continue to improve their code they are going to make old tracks incompatible from time to time. I expect it would be possible to avoid this, but presumably not worth the programming effort, so we just have to accept that tracks have a short shelf life.
Docjonel Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 It's a shame, but the price of progress I guess in order to get a better sim. As long as there's nothing wrong with my installation. They were taking up too much space on my hard drive anyway- time to dump em and start hoarding new BoX moments. 1
-TBC-AeroAce Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 (edited) This is why a roll back version would be handy or failing that they should warn that tracks will not work so launch game in offline mode before updating ..... I guess if you have enough HD space one could make a copy of the un updated game to another directory and use that in offline mode while still being able to play the updated version on the original directory I would advise people to launch the game directly from the exe and not the launcher. That way you can go do some researchand save any files on offline mode before updating. Edited March 6, 2019 by AeroAce 1 1
Sybreed Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 (edited) learned it the hard way myself... I had a track where I downed 5 bombers and 1 fighter in a 109... when I engaged the bombers, you can see all the tracer fire at my allied planes. It was super epic. Now it's all lost because I didn't record it in time.... Edited March 6, 2019 by Sybreed
