How to Elevate / Depress Overwing guns?

I've figured out that the overwing guns is "Fire weapon group 3", however I can't find the command to change their angle. The pivoting mechanism is clearly present, so I'm assuming this works?

In RoF the default command is LAlt+R:

It looks bolted to me, then I don't think it could swivel, but whoever knows about the Dolphin can answer that. The S.E.5a has the Foster mount, but so far reading High in the Empty Blue they only pulled it down flying in a straight line or zooming up, not in turnfights (handle and cock the gun and fly the plane for example). But I still have some 100 pages to read (although the accounts of them pulling it down got scarce with time). The Dolphin might be different, but I would assume you could only change the angle on land, asking the mechanics.

Luke FF mentioned it: to move those Lewis guns, the "Change Firing Position" command is used.

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. Other than that, it appears to work exactly like it does in RoF.

I'm mainly interested in using it to shoot upwards at someone (unsuspecting) above, though it could certainly be useful in a turnfight. Not that I really recommend turnfighting in a Dolphin.

Well, people already tilt the Lewis in the S.E.5a in all angles and you can cut the corners against much better turnfighters. Not to mention that they many times tilt it in mid turn when the other plane is turning tighter. The Dolphin mount might allow turnfighting and tilting it (I saw again the book where it says you could not change drums and clear stoppages - and it says you could choose three different angles). But if people are certainly going to tilt the Lewis in turnfights (and the Dolphin is no slouch in good hands), I think it would be fair to not allow changing drums and clearing stoppages. Better yet to don’t allow the tilt while already in a turn I suppose.

People already change drums in the middle of rolls with these upper wing guns, which I don't mind (but I would not complain if they corrected it), but the cutting corners with tilting guns in turnfights (so far I can't find indication it could be done in the S.E.5a or Nieuports, just in sort of a straight line) should come with limitations, because it is a huge advantage and basically can make a dog simulate a turn like a champ.

There has to be a limitation in my opinion, because people abuse it, just like they abuse flying and gunning.

You are confusing the upper guns with the lower ones when it comes to reloads and stoppages.
