Bail Out Order

I am curious about the current bail out sequence from bombers. It appears that the pilot bails out first and then follows a sequence order one person at a time. It seems a bit slow and orderly in an emergency situation. I think it would be great if you could control who bails and when. I imagine that if I was pilot and knew we were going to have to leave the crippled plane, that I could give the bail order and try to maintain control as long as possible to give crew the best chance. I'd also like to see a mad scramble for the hatches with everyone getting out almost at once or close to it.  In current setup, the pilot bails first and the plane immediately loses control giving less time for the crew to get out.

Agreed, even if the sequence isn't manually controllable, it doesn't make much sense as is.

How did it work in '46? Does anyone remember?

It works the same; Pilot bails then crew follows. It would be great to see the crew get out as fast as possible, not one by one, which is very slow.

How about able to bail out from plane that is on fire and on ground?

Also what I find disturbing is that the planes control surfaces take the last input they get and stay at it. If you have a fully deflected elevator on bailout time it will stay that way. Has bugged me ever since..
