installation, steam & dev mix

I have 1946 and BOS via steam, and BOM & BOB via devs.  I though I had linked but am only showing keys for bom/bob on the il2 site.

The real question is: can i install in such a fashion that the codebase is shared in some way so i don't have to install it twice (once via the dev installer and again via steam).

The way I understand it is that once you have linked accounts, you can then purchase stuff from either steam or the il2 store and it should just be available on your account. I think you are then tied to using the steam client only though. You should no longer need to use licence keys to activate your purchases, I think they should just work, not too sure about that though.

I purchased Stalingrad on Steam long ago, then everything else through the shop here.  I linked the accounts.  All I have to do to play is start the game from the icon on the desktop, which boots the game and starts Steam.  I never start the game from Steam.

IL2/46 is totally different from the Great Battles series and is not connected to it other than sharing 1C as it's publisher.

Assuming you have linked your accounts per our instructions then you have to launch from Steam to access all content you purchased. Our website will not show your Steam purchases and vice versa. You don’t need two installs, just one and that would be the one you installed through Steam.

That is almost correct . I have steam and web site purchases and all my keys (including content from steam) show on my profile on website here. (Steam does not show the web purchases, but web site shows both)

Which should mean i can use either client to game (not at same time though?) as long as my purchases are registered on web site for both on same account. I have not tested login via web client version  as I only use Steam version, But it should work in my case.

Your problem is you have not linked the steam and website versions, and it might help if that process was in the FAQ and install section of website or somewhere easy to find....

Searching the forums is pretty terrible. It search ability is limited in my experience.

No Stix the system has changed and does not work that way any more. This person is operating under the new system and you are operating under the old system.
