MarcoPegase44 Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) Hello, When looking at the photographs of the BF109G during the Kuban battle in 1943, it seems that 80% Bf109 G4 are in version R6 (armament reinforced with 2 MG151-20 mounted in gondolas to fight against IL2). This mainly concerns the G4 version, the G2 were equipped since summer 1942 in Stalingrad following a request from the Wehrmacht to the Luftwaffe to be better protected against IL2 attacks. The Bf109 G2 R6 version, however, remains in the minority, while this is the case for the vast majority of BF109 G4 delivered in the spring of 1943 during the Battle of Kuban. During 1943 the G6 R6 versions are very much in the minority in Kuban, the R6 version seems to start disappearing during the summer. Thus equipped the BF 109 are a little less fast and manageable, but the supremacy of the BF109 is still sufficient during the first half of 1943 to counter the Soviet planes. On the other hand the effect is terrible and makes it possible to knock down quickly an IL2 or a bomber in 1 burst. This mod equips by default in version R6 the Bf109 G4 of the player and the wingmen of his squadron for the campaign "BOK career mode" some is the mission, the BF 109 G2 remain in normal version.If your squadron is mixed in equipment G2 and G4, you will have the 2 versions of armament that will cohabit. So the "BOK career mode" seems to me to give a more historical atmosphere. This mod also removes bombs for YAK 1 and 7 and LA5. These were never equipped in operation following a directive of 1942, being content with machine guns and cannon for the ground attack, the same for BF 109G. If I myself play for La-5 in the Kuban, then the faceted cockpit canopy and the boosted engine will automatically turn on. But when I play for the Luftwaffe, I come across regular La-5s, no boosted engines.

To modify the AI of other squadrons and enemies, you must modify the "action" file in the "cfg" folder of the campaign you want to play (put in the "15" subfolder for the Kuban campaign). It's a big job and sometimes you have to start over with each game update. Se the file attached actions.zip Please note that these files must be updated to take into account the new planes: Hurricane, Yak9 which must be added to the file. I haven't updated them.
