I can never remember how to make videos just show up as videos...

Click on "Share" just above the thumbs up and down icons. When the little window pops up click "Copy" and the file address is saved.

Then paste that file address into your comment.

Good videos,  by the way.

Thank you, Gordon200!

This is probably the culmination of a 25 year wish going all the way back to playing Red Baron and hoping for a good coop experience!

Not very exciting for us, the rest of the flight got shot down by the escorts. :mda:That was a bit of a tough sell to the C.O....

Our tragi-comic adventures continue. Here I realize that "closure speed" is a thing...

And here we run into some unusually effective ground fire. Sure is purdy, though...

I love the way your 'faithful squadron dog' is barking on your return! Is it a Jack Russell, by any chance?

Ha! We both have dogs that like to chime in over the comms periodically! I don't remember which one that was though...

Man I am so angry my isp provided router isn't allowing me to open the ports necessary to play co-op, me and my brother would be playing if we could.

That is a pain. We weren't able to get a coop campaign running peer to peer for a while and then for some reason it just...worked. Not sure what was different. Have you tried a renting a dedicated server? We had problems with ARMA after installing Apex and getting a server solved it...

Salutations,

Well I definitely can feel empathy for you. I have tried for months to be able to host anything! I've tried everything except getting a dedicated server. Which Not preferable or should be needed.

I can join other servers but can't host a thing. Nothing. ☹️

It shouldn't be so hard to set up a coop mission for personal use.

Check your router settings. Even I had to make changes to mine. It's not our fault. Our COOPs system works just fine provided there is a clear path to your hosted game.

Jason, I did not intend to imply that my hosting connection problems were yours or the games fault. Others can get things working just fine. It's not IL-2.

I've just tried everything... I mean everything with my router and still no success. It's just frustrating and disappointing.

I appreciate all of your teams efforts. :salute:

Perhaps I should buy a new and different make cable modem. ?

Salutations,

I am desperate to find a way to host anything online for IL-2! ?

Is there anybody else out there with a ARRIS SURFboard SB6580 and using Turner cable (now Spectrum), that is able to successfully host any online missions for IL-2?

If so please share your settings with me. ?

1. This time it is my dog at the beginning!

2. This is my buddy's first combat flight with Track IR, he just got it today, so I was talking him through finding the enemy...

3. The C/O has been chewing us out on the number of air frames we aren't bringing back...

This help? It's all about opening the correct ports, unless you have some extra firewall turned on behind it, ie running on your PC?

Think I have the same router with the same company, can't get mine to open either, need to call spectrum. It's these garbage tier routers they force on us with ZERO user control.

Yes, it is very annoying and disappointing. I'm not stupid and I can't get anything done with coop online play. What confuses me is that I can connect to other peoples servers and play on them but can't set up my own. ☹️

Great watch again RR, glad to hear you've taken your dog UP with you this time, sounds keen! :)

BY the way, on your landing approach you came real low over my Auntie's house and shook her teapot off've the kitchen table. She's NONE to happy!!

After this mission, we both got promoted, despite not being able to:

-Fly in formation

-Follow a mission plan

-Successfully meet objectives

-Bring (most) of our planes back undamaged

oh well...

Wait... Crashed while zoomed in, got into an unrecoverable spin or got promoted? ?

Posted

Spins, crashing into the ground because I just 'got it wrong'... and messing up because of being zoomed in.

The promotion thing, not so often... lol

Well. We started a new career in the spring, but on the second mission, things got weird! Stuttering, a few phone calls in the middle, a weird graphics bug and me forgetting the eject key. Still lots of fun though!

Rick Rawlings III on his way!

Back at it with some better results...

I like having the air activity set to medium, but then I get the sever overload and everything slows down... Oh well, time to upgrade to the Cray, I guess...

Don't think this is your rigs issue. It is the limitation of the DNE engine. This would happen ROF with PWCG on medium or high. Even with the new DNE upgrades it just can't handle to much complex stuff (ie, planes with FMs) going on at once.

Out for a bit but back at it:

Some more of the Stalingrad Spring career in PWCG. We were to intercept aircraft to the south, but ran into a flight of fighters near our airfield. Our typically stoic flight leader silently disappeared after the fight, but we proceeded to the patrol area with no further contacts.

I forgot to switch over the sound so my buddy's voice isn't captured, but you can take my word for it that all my lines make sense if you could hear his side of the conversation!

We've had a lot of technical issues lately. This mission had to be re-flown several times due to computer crashes or Track IR issues. It is a bomber intercept of short duration, not, as you might misinterpret, an interception of short bombers...

This was a nice intercept, more of a scramble, actually. There was a technical issue on this one as well. My computer crashed about a minute after the end of the video so we will have to re-fly it next time...

Rick, you know about not being able to get crosshairs on target? If when on the ground you move your head to the right (to centre the crosshairs) and then press F10 it then becomes the default view whenever you hit 'Centre'. I find it makes life a little less hectic in a hectic situation... dunno if that's any use?

Thank you for the tip! I believe I tried that back in the old IL 2 days. Isn't it cheating a bit? (says the guy with engine tips on!) Also, don't you then find yourself constantly drifting to the left?
