JU-2 and “Engage Flap Contol”

Concerning the JU-52, I thought I was smarter than this, but apparently not...

I have the stabilizer trim key mapped, no problems there. I have the “Flaps Up” and “Flaps Down” key mapped to my CH yoke. The problem is I cannot for the life of me establish the correlation when for takeoff it’s stated to engage the flaps, or “flap control on” when watching the video tutorial.

I’m looking for something like “Flap Engage”  or somesuch item that allows me to pull up on the red handle located near the pilots seat (if I remember correctly) but find no such command in order to bind the key to it (see pic below as I believe he mapping to be to the red knob). Simply trying to lower the flaps after going to the +2 on the stabilizer trim does nothing. I see the trim move to the +2 indicator down to the left bu no matter what flaps stay put.

Am I missing a step or something here. Arrrgh. Let alone when I do try to taxi down the runway I look like a drunken pilot dodging from side to side. Totally uncontrollably for me. Obviously, pilot error....again.

Sigh...thanks once again! I just cannot figure this out. Love flying the plane and want to do the career starting from the runway but I’m too incoherent apparently so I just start my mission from the air.

See the notes in the briefing:

Basically, you engage the flaps/trim linkage with the 'flaps down' key, and disengage it with the 'flaps up' key.

Ahhhhh...okay! I was not allowing enough time fo inputs which in turn made the mire system wonky. Yes, I got it now! Also I found out I was being a little too light on the throttles on takeoff. She really wants to fly straight when doing so with very little rudder I put from me.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help. Appreciate it. Gonna fly some solo quick missions before jumping back into career mode again. Thanks!
